Yes it is PLASTIC….
Why 3D printing
We choose 3D printing for many reasons…,
1. It allows us to do the holds in a way no other material or Technic would.
2. Light but strong holds a very small amount of material because they are mostly empty…!!
3. No waste…., we produce what we need, no stock.
4. No heavy machinery to cut, process, transport and shipping raw material.
5. 100% recyclable and Biodegradable under the right conditions, now a days easy to access when is disposable on Municipality waste stations.
6. And last but not least….. FUN and INNOVATION!!, colors and shapes never seen before in the climbing holds industry.
So… YES we produce plastic holds,
We know that we pollute and that what we do is not ESSENTIAL for life (at least for everyone); but, we believe that considering the entire production chain, this way of producing pollutes and consumes less energy than similar products made of wood or polyurethane (PU) because there is no need to cut, dry, process and transport even before the production of the hold in the case of wood, all of that if you get FSC-certified timber…..; or in the case of Polyurethane (PU) The need to produce molds, chemicals and abrasives, as well as intense labor for the production and storage of the holds.
